In 1944, 'Chanderkar Sweets' was founded by Shri. Laxman A. Chanderkar (Lucky Chanderkar). This was a time when Mumbai was a hub of textile mills. Shri Laxman A. Chanderkar, with a humble beginning, started by supplying sweets to the canteens of some of these mills. For this, he introduced sweetmeats with a higher shelf life such as Kadak Boondi Ladoo, Malvani Khaja, Mesur, Balushahi, etc.

Love this place from childhood this is regular sweet shop but with typical traditional sweet speciality like malvani khaja ( sweet crunchy batter stick induce with ginger flavour) fun to eat also must take kaju ladoos( cashew nut sugar syrup balls) Which is only gets this shop I guess only shop in Mumbai sells this a small packet cost at present rs.250. The best part is teast remains same as my parents also used to buy from their childhood.
